Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Sedna™ Gold & Black Dial

The Speedmaster Moonphase ref. 304.63.44.52.01.001 combines the iconic Speedmaster chronograph design with an elaborate moonphase complication and OMEGA’s distinctive Sedna™ Gold alloy.

The 44.25 mm case is paired with a black sun-brushed dial, black ceramic bezel with Ceragold™ tachymeter scale, and black leather strap. At its heart is the automatic OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9905, offering approximately 60 hours of power reserve and METAS Master Chronometer certification.

18K Sedna™ Gold Case

The Omega Speedmaster Sedna Gold features a 44.25 mm case crafted from 18K Sedna™ Gold. The warm rose-gold appearance of the alloy creates a strong contrast with the black dial and bezel.

The case combines polished and brushed finishing, while the crown and chronograph pushers are also executed in Sedna™ Gold.

Black Sun-Brushed Dial

The defining visual element of this Omega Black Dial Watch is its black metallic sun-brushed dial. The subtle surface texture catches the light while maintaining the sophisticated dark appearance.

Applied Sedna™ Gold indexes and hands provide contrast against the black background, with luminous details helping improve readability.

Moonphase Display

The Speedmaster Moonphase incorporates its moonphase indication at 6 o’clock. The moon disc is crafted in Sedna™ Gold and hand-engraved, with enamel and silver powder used to create the surrounding celestial appearance.

This detailed astronomical display gives the watch a distinctive character beyond a conventional chronograph.

Black Ceramic Bezel with Ceragold™ Tachymeter

The watch features a black ceramic bezel ring with a Ceragold™ tachymeter scale. The dark bezel complements the black dial while creating a sharp contrast against the Sedna™ Gold case.

The tachymeter remains an important part of the Speedmaster’s performance-oriented chronograph identity.

Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9905

At the heart of the Speedmaster Moonphase is OMEGA’s Calibre 9905. This self-winding chronograph movement uses a Co-Axial escapement and column-wheel chronograph mechanism.

The movement is METAS-certified as a Master Chronometer and is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. It provides approximately 60 hours of power reserve.

Chronograph and Date Functions

The watch combines several complications within its Speedmaster layout. Functions include chronograph timing, date indication, small seconds, hours, minutes, and moonphase.

The date is displayed within the sub-dial at 9 o’clock, while the moonphase display occupies the 6 o’clock position.

Black Leather Strap

The warm tone of the Sedna™ Gold case is complemented by a black leather strap. The documented reference uses an alligator-leather surface with a non-grained calf-leather underside and a Sedna™ Gold foldover clasp.

The 21 mm strap width creates a balanced connection between the substantial case and wrist.

Sapphire Crystal and Transparent Caseback

The Omega Speedmaster Moonphase uses scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The transparent caseback provides a view of the Calibre 9905 movement.

This combination provides both protection for the black dial and an opportunity to appreciate the mechanical construction.
